How to focus on your prepping

by Dustin Howard
Here’s my recommendation our gun and prep shop has been sharing with our customer base for a long time. When you’re struggling to prioritize where to spend your money and time, keep in mind that when it comes to the amount of time you have to respond to a crisis, the priority order usually follows this logic:
1.  Self-defense (what are you willing to use to protect yourself) – this is the shortest amount of time you have to react, MOMENTS
2.  Emergency first aid needs (start the breathing, stop the bleeding, protect the wound, treat for shock), you usually have MINUTES if not SECONDS
3.  Emergency food & water (on average, you can live 3 days without water and up to 28 days without food, but it will suck badly with no energy), you have DAYS to respond Â
4.  Communications (phone, charger, solar, radios, etc) – if you’re protected, medically OK, and have basic food and water, you’re ok to work out your communication and signaling
5. Other preps per your plan or known needs. Do this AFTER 1-4 have been addressed.
